In South Africa, "jol" is a slang term commonly used to describe having fun, partying, or enjoying oneself. It can refer to a good time, a party, or an event where people are socializing and having a great time. For example, someone might say, "Let's go jol tonight," meaning they're wanting to go out and have fun.
My Design Approach
The design of Jol is guided by a user-first philosophy, aimed at simplifying the process of discovering and attending nightlife events. Recognizing that many partygoers rely heavily on social media or word-of-mouth, Jol aims to bridge this gap by providing a seamless and intuitive platform where users can find events effortlessly.

However, Jol will also be widely adopted by a broader audience, including party enthusiasts of all backgrounds, casual users and event organisers as well. Therefore, its personas need to be flexible and inclusive to accommodate diverse range of users and their expectations.

This feature allows you to accurately determine the location, time, and distance of the event you are interested in.
You can also press the 'Get Directions' button, which will take you to options for the most popular navigation apps.

The project began by focusing on the "Must have" and "Should have" features, which were designed to address the core issues and user pain points—successfully achieving that goal. Having been passionate about this idea for months, I'm glad to have brought it to life and would love to see it become a real product someday.

With advancements in technology, there is always potential for further enhancements, particularly in optimizing accessibility, integration with social media platforms and user experience.
